Section Manager - Wet Utilities
Job summary
A government agency in Ras al-Khaimah is seeking a Wet Utilities Section Manager to lead engineering activities for wastewater and stormwater systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Water/Wastewater, Civil, or Chemical Engineering and 12-15 years of relevant experience, particularly in the UAE/GCC. Key responsibilities include managing design approvals, project scheduling, and compliance with regulatory standards. Qualifications
- 12–15 years of relevant experience, UAE/GCC experience preferred.
- Experience with consultants on major infrastructure/wet utility projects.
- Chartered Engineer certification is a plus.

Education
The Wet Utilities Section Manager provides technical expertise and leadership across all wet utility networks including wastewater (sewage network), treated sewage effluent (TSE), drainage (stormwater), hydrology, and irrigation. This role is responsible for overseeing the engineering and design activities of the section, ensuring alignment with departmental planning, budgeting, and operational objectives.
- Lead the planning and execution of all engineering and design activities related to wet utility networks.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship across all wet utility assets, including wastewater, stormwater, TSE, and irrigation systems.
- Review and approve design documents, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.
- Represent the department in technical discussions, coordination meetings, and external stakeholder engagements.
- Oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery of wet utility inputs for projects.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, Projects, Quality, etc.) to align technical requirements and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with all local authority and regulatory requirements for design and implementation.
- Identify and manage risks related to planning, engineering, and project quality; implement mitigation measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, reports, and records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project performance and implementing best practices.
- Bachelor's in Water/Wastewater, Civil, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 12–15 years of relevant experience (UAE/GCC experience highly preferred).
- Experience with consultants on major infrastructure/wet utility projects.
- Chartered Engineer certification is a plus.
