Job description
Job Purpose

The Wet Utilities Section Manager provides technical expertise and leadership across all wet utility networks including wastewater (sewage network), treated sewage effluent (TSE), drainage (stormwater), hydrology, and irrigation. This role is responsible for overseeing the engineering and design activities of the section, ensuring alignment with departmental planning, budgeting, and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of all engineering and design activities related to wet utility networks.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship across all wet utility assets, including wastewater, stormwater, TSE, and irrigation systems.
  • Review and approve design documents, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Represent the department in technical discussions, coordination meetings, and external stakeholder engagements.
  • Oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery of wet utility inputs for projects.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, Projects, Quality, etc.) to align technical requirements and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all local authority and regulatory requirements for design and implementation.
  • Identify and manage risks related to planning, engineering, and project quality; implement mitigation measures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, reports, and records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project performance and implementing best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Water/Wastewater, Civil, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
