ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and experienced IT Lecturer to join our growing academic department in the beautiful Western Cape region. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology education while working in one of South Africa's most vibrant educational environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Curriculum Development:
- Deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials in various IT disciplines
- Develop and update curriculum content to reflect current industry trends and technologies
- Design and assess coursework, assignments, and examinations
- Supervise student projects and provide academic mentorship
Research & Professional Development:
- Conduct research in relevant IT fields and contribute to academic publications
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Participate in conferences, workshops, and professional development activities
- Collaborate with industry partners on research projects
Administrative & Community Engagement:
- Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees
- Contribute to student recruitment and retention initiatives
- Engage with the broader IT community and industry professionals
- Support institutional quality assurance processes
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Honours degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in higher education (preferably IT/Computing) will be an advantage.
- Strong practical experience in software development, systems administration, or IT management
- Excellent communication skills in English
