POSITION INFO :

Minimum Requirements :

• MBChB
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• Prior experience in Paediatrics (or baby clinic)
• Keen interest in Research, Allergy, and Urticaria
• Commitment to complete the Allergy Diploma at the CMSA
• Relevant clinical trial experience as a sub-investigator (preferable)
• Good Clinical Practice Certification (advantageous)
• Dispensing License (advantageous)
• Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic Data Management systems, email, and internet
• Willingness to travel locally and overseas for research-related meetings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) :

• Providing clinical services to patients enrolled in the unit’s clinical trials.
• Managing and coordinating study participants (including paediatric participants)
• Interfacing with non-unit clinical and trial staff and regulatory personnel
• Caring for patients during active treatment and follow-up periods
• Developing acceptable standards in clinical service delivery for disability and outpatient care
• Providing medical expertise to enhance research nurse-related patient care
• Assisting with allergy consultations at Groote Schuur Hospital
• Ensuring fair and ethical treatment of all patients involved in clinical trials
• Collecting, compiling, and analyzing patient data
• Maintaining proper patient records and data management, including electronic data entry
• Ensuring that study patient case record forms and clinical documentation meet good clinical practice standards

Additional Information :

• 6-12 months Fixed Term Contract (Part-Time)
• Working hours: 20 hours per week
