Job description
Job Purpose

Provincial Treasury, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to manage and monitor, transparent and effective management of movable assets by provincial departments and public entities.

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 3 year B-Degree/Advanced Diploma (equivalent qualification or higher) in Financial Management, Accounting or Commerce; A minimum of 3 years experience in asset and inventory management; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Knowledge of the following: Public sector asset management legislation, policies and procedures; public sector accounting conventions for asset management; Implications of the modified cash basis of accounting on asset management activities and financial disclosure; Classification, recognition and disclosure of assets; Generally recognised accounting practices (GRAP) compliant asset management requirements; Policy analysis and experience in research and utilising different research methodologies; Research and Reporting procedures; Financial, SCM and Project Management; Proven knowledge on public sector asset management legislation, policies and procedures; Experience at monitoring compliance to asset management requirements in the public sector; Drafting policies, guides and standard operating procedures for asset management.

Remuneration

R 468 459 - R 561 894 per annum (Salary level 9)
