This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive in-house accounts team of six, reporting to a Chartered Accountant. The Service Charge Accountant will take ownership of their own portfolio, preparing full sets of accounts, managing budgets, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This is a remote role following UK working hours, offering flexibility and scope for career development.
- Prepare full sets of service charge accounts from Trial Balance and Nominal Ledger.
- Produce budgets, financial client reports, and expenditure reviews.
- Manage accounts preparation in-house without reliance on external accountants.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines and high standards of accuracy.
- Collaborate with the accounts team to support overall team objectives.
- Minimum AAT Level 3 qualification (or South African equivalent); ideally AAT Level 4 or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
- Demonstrable strong accounting and double-entry skills, with the ability to produce accounts from Trial Balance.
- Experience preparing service charge accounts preferred but not essential.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with MRI QUBE or similar software is advantageous.
- Highly organized, able to multitask and manage your own portfolio autonomously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients.
- Proactive, deadline-driven, and comfortable working remotely.
