PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To effectively manage and control the Control Systems, ensuring they are always functional to facilitate effective delivery and communication within Foskor.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND EXPOSURE REQUIRED:
Minimum:
- Qualification: BSc Instrumentation/Electronic Engineering or B Tech Electronic Engineering (Electrical Light Current)
- Experience: 5 years instrumentation experience in a mining environment at middle management level
Ideal:
- Qualification: Post Graduate Instrumentation/Electronic Engineering or B Tech Electronic Engineering (Electrical Light Current)
- Management Certificate/Diploma
- Experience: 10 years instrumentation experience in a mining environment at middle management level
VTS Profile: Level Orange – Green and Valid Driver Licence
HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:
- Management of Operations and Strategy: Identify process automation and client needs. Determine viability of such needs. Develop a project plan adhering to sound project management principles. Motivate the project. Follow tendering processes. Identify competent suppliers. Implement and monitor approved projects. Control cold and hot commissioning of automated processes/networks according to the project schedule.
- Compliance to SHEQ Standards: Ensure staff are familiar with SHEQ procedures. Conduct monthly audits for compliance. Implement corrective actions for deviations. Hold monthly SHEQ awareness sessions. Interpret and enforce legal safety requirements.
- Leading and Managing Human Resources: Determine staffing needs. Coordinate with HR to fill vacancies. Participate in selection. Ensure proper orientation. Ensure staff have clear job profiles. Conduct performance discussions. Provide feedback and identify development needs.
- Record Management and Reporting: Compile monthly operational reports. Manage financial variances within budget. Coordinate leave rosters.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Identify budget needs. Prepare and submit budgets. Use cost-effective purchasing. Operate within approved budgets. Report on variances with justifications.
