Job summary
A leading recruitment firm in South Africa seeks an experienced accounting professional with a BComm degree. The successful candidate will conduct independent reviews, prepare financial statements, and provide tax advice. Candidates must have 2-3 years of experience in accounting and the ability to mentor junior staff. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this role.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of articles (SAIPA advantageous).
- At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting or auditing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and manage independent reviews in accordance with financial frameworks.
- Prepare and compile accurate financial statements for clients.
- Provide tax planning advice and attend meetings with SARS.
- Oversee, mentor, and train junior clerks.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Skills
Education
- BComm Degree
- Successful completion of articles (SAIPA advantageous).
- At least 2-3 years of experience in the professional industry, ideally with experience in an accounting or auditing firm
- Independent Review: Conduct and manage independent reviews in accordance with relevant financial reporting frameworks and regulations.
- Compilation of AFS (Annual Financial Statements): Prepare and compile accurate financial statements for clients.
- Provide tax planning advice and attend meetings with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) on behalf of clients.
- Oversee, mentor, and train junior clerks and other team members to ensure quality work and development within the team.
- Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks as required by the firm or clients.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and auditing standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and SARS.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior staff.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
