A leading logistics firm based in Cape Town is seeking an Operations Manager to lead their Freight Forwarding & Clearing Division. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience in freight forwarding, possess strong leadership skills, and have an analytical mindset. Responsibilities include overseeing import/export operations, managing customs processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations. - Oversee import, export, and local transport operations (Sea, Air & Road).
- Manage customs clearing processes and ensure compliance with all SARS requirements.
- Liaise with shipping lines, agents, transporters, and clients to ensure timely movement.
- Supervise warehouse and container handling, including stuffing and deliveries.
- Verify all documentation — B / L, EUR1, COO, invoices, packing lists, etc.
- Train, motivate, and lead a strong operations and warehouse team.
- Control and monitor shipment timelines, costs, and KPIs.
- Handle claims, demurrage disputes, and client escalations professionally.
- Collaborate with Finance and Management on billing, quotations, and profitability.
- Continuously improve operational systems to enhance productivity and accuracy.
