Details designs from first principles as well as improvement on existing product ranges.
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering (B Eng.)
- Minimum of 7 years of design experience
- Ability to plan and execute project plans
- Ability to guide and mentor other engineers
- Innovative and self‑driven
- Hands‑on approach to problem solving
- Readily able to adjust to changing priorities
- Objective orientated, setting goals and meeting deadlines
- 3D CAD models designs and presentation to clients
- Preparation of manufacturing and supplier part drawings
- Conduct concept and design reviewsManage and support the day‑to‑day design activities
- Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements
- Interface with materials and purchasing on new part design and sourcing
- Interface with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes
- Interface with the Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design products that meet government regulations, restrictions and codes
