Job summary
A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide support for the design, operation, and maintenance of water treatment plants in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in water treatment and strong knowledge of mechanical systems. Responsibilities include overseeing equipment installation, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years post ECSA registration.
- 10+ years in water treatment, mining, or industrial utilities environments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical water treatment equipment.
- Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, and performance optimization.
- Support project design, equipment selection, and commissioning activities.
Skills
Education
To provide mechanical engineering support for the design, operation, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring system reliability and compliance with water quality standards.
Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical water treatment equipment. Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, and performance optimization. Support project design, equipment selection, and commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with SANS, ISO, and municipal standards. Supervise contractors and ensure environmental and safety compliance.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years post ECSA registration
- SAQA verified qualifications
- 10+ years in water treatment, mining, or industrial utilities environments
- Knowledge of pumps, dosing systems, and filtration technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting and system improvement skills
- Strong focus on sustainability and compliance
- Knowledge and Skills Required : Operation and maintenance of mechanical filtration and dosing systems Pumping systems, valves, and pipeline maintenance Knowledge of water chemistry and treatment technologies
- Compliance with SANS and ISO standards for water quality
