Job summary
A leading educational institution is looking for a Senior Associate (Legal) for a permanent role based in Germiston, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will possess extensive litigation experience and strong drafting skills for pleadings and opinions. This role primarily serves Municipalities and State-Owned Companies. Applicants must have 6 to 8 years of post-legal qualification experience and a solid character for client relations. Salary is market related. Applications via email only.
Qualifications
- 6 to 8 years’ experience post legal qualification.
- Proven litigation experience at both magistrates’ and high courts.
- Good drafting skills for pleadings and opinions.
Responsibilities
- Undertake work primarily for Municipalities and State-Owned Companies.
- Strong drafting of pleadings and research without the need of counsels.
- Maintain good relations with clients and teams.

Education
We are seeking a Senior Associate (Legal) for a permanent role based in Germiston, Gauteng.
- Grade 12 with 6 to 8 years’ experience post legal qualification
- Seasoned and experienced litigation attorney
- Must demonstrate they have proven litigations skills at both magistrates’ courts and especially high court
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Must be familiar with High Court Rules and Caselines and Court Online
- Right of appearance at the High Court is a must and the candidate must have appeared at the High Court or proven consistent attendance at magistrates’ court for opposed matters
- The candidate must show that they are strong in drafting of all pleadings and in research as well as drafting opinions without the need of counsels
- The candidate will primarily undertake work for Municipalities and State-Owned Companies; experience in servicing these types of entities shall be an advantage
- The candidate must have a good character in having good relations with clients in the team
