A Business Lawyer position is available for permanent employment based in Port Elizabeth.

Salary: R50 000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience.

Requirements:

• Law Degree (essential)
• Proven legal background with a strong, assertive personality
• Preference will be given to individual residing in Port Elizabeth
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and managing commercial agreements
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• High attention to detail with strong negotiation ability
• Sound judgment and ability to identify and address potential risks proactively

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct due diligence for potential partnerships or acquisitions
• Provide legal insight and ensure compliance across the company’s business interests
• Follow up on outstanding reports and information required for meetings
• Draft and prepare senior employee contracts
• Review, update, and improve internal agreements (sales, shareholder, consulting, etc.)
• Manage the annual audit process with auditors and internal accounts teams
• Attend and assist with internal disciplinary proceedings involving senior staff
• Manage administrative processes related to company brand principals (rebates, incentives, and legal notices)
• Maintain accurate records of dividends, salary adjustments, life and short-term insurance policies, and claims
