Job Overview
1. Roles and responsibilities

Manage the classroom to support students.

Create a positive learning environment.

2. Planning and Preparation

Write IEPs and learning objectives.

Collaborate with TAs on support strategies.

Provide cover work when absent.

3. Instruction and Assessment

Teach using adaptive methods.

Use a variety of approaches in instruction.

Monitor progress and adjust as needed.

4. Behaviour and Emotional Support

Behaviour and emotional support details to be developed.

5. Collaboration and Communication

Communicate regularly with the Lead Teacher.

Update parents on progress.

Maintain professional relationships.

6. Parental Engagement

Update parents on progress.

Document communication.

7. Team Communication and Documentation

Update TEAM channels with lesson plans and progress.

Upload evidence and photos.

Maintain classroom displayed in collaboration with the teaching assistant, to ensure they are learning focused and celebrate children’s progress.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. (Masters preferred)

Proven experience in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities for children aged 6-12 years.

In-depth knowledge of child development theories, pedagogical approaches, and assessment strategies within the early years’ context.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with current trends and research in early years education.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive working environment.
