Supply Planner (Senior Managerial Level)

Role Summary

As the Senior Manager, Supply Planner you will lead the strategic planning and execution of supply chain operations across multiple regions and product lines. This role demands a high level of cross-functional leadership, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to influence upstream and downstream stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving supply chain resilience, optimizing inventory investment, and enabling business growth through agile and scalable planning strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Supply Planning & Governance
  • Lead the development and execution of mid- to long-term supply strategies aligned with global demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and business objectives.
  • Take ownership of the supply planning governance framework, ensuring alignment with S&OP processes, financial targets, and customer service levels.
  • Drive planning excellence through the implementation of best-in-class tools, processes, and KPIs.
Inventory Optimization & Risk Management
  • Oversee inventory health across global and regional warehouses, balancing working capital efficiency with service level targets.
  • Establish and monitor inventory policies, safety stock strategies, and replenishment models to mitigate supply risks.
  • Lead scenario planning and risk mitigation strategies to address supply disruptions, demand volatility, and geopolitical risks.
Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration
  • Act as the key crucial interface between Supply Planning, Procurement, Production, Sales, and Logistics to ensure end-to-end supply chain alignment.
  • Confidently partner with global and regional suppliers to secure capacity, improve lead times, and drive cost efficiencies.
  • Represent Supply Planning in executive-level forums, including S&OP, product lifecycle reviews, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and planning systems (e.g., SAP, ESP, Tableau, IBP) to drive insights and optimize planning performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across planning, forecasting, and inventory management processes.
  • Lead digital transformation efforts in planning, including automation, predictive analytics, and AI-driven forecasting.
Leadership & Talent Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of planners, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and succession planning to develop future supply chain leaders.
  • Drive change management and stakeholder engagement across global and regional teams.
Qualifications & Competencies

Education: Minimally a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.

Experience Level: Minimally 8–10 years in supply chain or planning roles, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership capacity managing regional or global planning functions.

Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in ERP (SAP), advanced planning tools (IBP, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis), and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI).

Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to translate business strategy into operational plans and drive cross-functional alignment.

Analytical Acumen: Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a track record of using data to drive decisions and improvements.

Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams, managing change, and influencing senior stakeholders.

Certifications: APICS CPIM/CSCP, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
