Store Manager | M&S IOI City Mall
About the Role

To be responsible and accountable for the commercial, operations and management of designated store(s) focusing on the below:

  • Lead, motivate and mentor the team to achieve high performance and productivity.
  • Maximize sales opportunities and minimize loss of sales; achieve the sales targets.
  • Control stock losses to a minimum level.
  • Ensure full compliance with company SOPs, policies and procedures, profit protection measures, rules and regulations.
  • Maintain the highest standard of service following the service model specified by UK principal.
  • Efficient control of stocks, following up deliveries, shortages and inter-store transfers.
  • Build a strong sales and service culture within the team.

Be the auditor of designated store to ensure processes are followed per SOP and guidelines. Contribute to the store's success through business planning, effective operational management, achieving sales targets and store direct profit while monitoring and controlling store overheads within budget.

What you will do
Generating Sales
  • Lead a team of store/sales managers, senior supervisors and supervisors to maximise sales and commercial opportunities.
  • Maximise sales and commercial opportunities in the following areas: maximize sales return per square foot, increase average basket and overall transactions, implement sales promotions, align seasonal changes with seasonal guides, ensure high-standard merchandise display to promote a better shopping experience and sales.
  • Analyse sales figures and identify ways to increase sales guided by commercial numbers and on-floor observations.
  • Use stock management systems to ensure optimum stock availability and efficient logistics movements (e.g., stock transfers, replenishment timelines).
  • Implement best practices from the commercial management toolkit to manage the store’s commercial aspects.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve daily targets.
Customer Service
  • Build a service culture through mentoring, coaching, training needs assessment, motivation, daily briefings, role play and leading by example.
  • Achieve the company and store customer satisfaction score and Net Promoter Score targets or above.
Merchandise & Visual Merchandising
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and VM teams to ensure the best merchandise mix and high presentation standards.
  • Plan and implement changes to merchandise layouts to maximise returns per square foot.
  • Ensure updated floor plans and seasonal changes are reflected on the sales floor.
  • Maintain “Basic Stock System” and keep the backroom organized for replenishment.
  • Control merchandise orders from local suppliers within the agreed catalogue; assess department strengths and spaces for improvement.
  • Highlight brand names and merchandise themes; manage clearance and price changes per policy.
Operations
  • Plan and implement staffing resources for maximum efficiency.
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure efficient ordering, delivery, return processes and correct stock movements; maintain health and safety and asset protection.
  • Regularly liaise with the immediate reporting superior on operational matters; ensure compliance of operations at the designated store.
Service Measurements
  • Analyse Mystery Shop reports to identify improvement opportunities and drive actions; communicate store themes at BU level.
  • Recognize excellent service in-store with clear communication.
Cost Control
  • Ensure all administrative documentation and procedures for financial and stock control are followed.
  • Lead stock take preparation and follow up on stock loss; ensure staffing resources are productive and cost-efficient.
  • Set and control budgets for designated areas.
Human Resources
  • Work with HR to manage human resources efficiently; promote teamwork and training needs; implement relevant training programs.

Other

  • Communicate effectively with Centre Management and contribute to overall business decisions.
