Job summary

A safety management company in Penang seeks a Safety Officer to implement and manage health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Degree/Diploma in Safety and Health, possess 2-4 years of relevant experience, and know ISO standards. Responsibilities include conducting training, preparing risk assessments, and liaising with government authorities. Candidates with own transport and immediate availability are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2-4 years relevant working experience.
• Possess own transport and valid Malaysian driver's licence.
• Experience dealing with relevant authorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage the health and safety system.
• Conduct safety briefing/training for new employees and contractors.
• Prepare and maintain risk assessments and daily manpower reports.

Job description

Overview

Plan, implement, and manage the health and safety system to ensure compliance with statutory and company regulations and procedures.

Work closely with all department heads to provide input related to safety, health, and environmental matters.

Conduct safety briefing/training for all new employees, contractors, vendors & etc.

Prepare daily manpower report.

Prepare new worker for orientation course.

Keep a log of all site pass.

Prepare risk assessment.

Liaise with relevant government authorities and resolve the safety issues arising from the site.

Conduct periodic safety meetings and audits to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.

To assist during audits, and inspections and maintain all documentation and records.

To identify potential risks on the construction site and constantly track the safety & health performance under OSHA regulations.

Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) implementation at work site.

To conduct toolbox meetings.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree/ Diploma in Safety and Health or related qualification.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and environmental regulatory requirements will be added advantages
• Required language (s): Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Having experience dealing with relevant authorities.
• At least 2-4 years relevant working experience.
• Possess own transport.
• Site: Penang, Seremban, KL, Ipoh (Willing to travel).
• Candidates who can start immediately are preferred.
