Job summary

A leading talent solutions firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Specialist – Process Safety. This senior role involves providing expert process safety leadership, managing process safety risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating safety studies. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, at least 20 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. This position offers an opportunity to lead critical safety initiatives in the oil & gas and chemical industries.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in process safety and/or process engineering.
  • Strong practical experience in process safety studies and risk assessment.
  • In-depth knowledge of oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Lead and facilitate process safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA/SIL, Bowtie, and QRA.
  • Review and approve process safety and engineering deliverables for projects and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Support design reviews, MOC activities, and operational risk assessments.
  • Investigate process safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Act as a key technical interface with clients and project teams.
