Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Engineering to join our team in Simpang Ampat Penang. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering function, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes and equipment.

What you'll be doing

The Department Manager for Engineering will provide direction and lead the Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, NPI & Automation, and MSG & Tool Room teams.

He/She will lead and control the NPI activities, product, process, and quality of the PCBA and Box Build operations. He/She will create tactical plans and execute activities in accordance with the Company SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to meet desired objectives while establishing strong customer relationships.

A strong “hands‑on” leader in Mechanical Engineering who meets customer demands and optimizes design for manufacturability and quality. Lead Section Managers and Engineers to drive daily product, quality, equipment, and process issues and monitor process and equipment stability up to Box Build.

The position drives continuous improvement and meets quality requirements. Provide technical direction and guidance on Mechanical Engineering related to manufacturing of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, Electro‑Mechanical Sub‑Assemblies and Box Build products.

Ensure the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet manufacturing process capability requirements. Lead engineering teams in developing continuous process improvements and ensure implementation of effective processes to support new product introduction.

Collaborate with Business Development & Program Management teams, acting as the key technical lead with customers when needed to meet design criteria and optimize the customer’s concepts in the product delivery process.

Analytical and detail‑oriented.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to lead discussions and deliver effective presentations.

Ability to gain the confidence of leaders, peers, and team members and influence decisions.

What we're looking for

Minimum degree or master’s in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering with sound knowledge in Engineering.

At least 10 years experience in a leadership role.

Experience in New Product Introduction, Process Development, Engineering, Design, and Mold Tooling Design.

Experience in PCBA / Test Development is an added advantage.

Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949 quality standards.

Experience in FDA implementation.

Strong experience in continuous improvement and Six Sigma implementations.

Root Cause Analysis & Validation knowledge.

Establishment of manufacturing process assembly.

Engineering Change Management & Technical Capability.

Understanding of Quality Standards.
