Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Air Freight Sales Leader to drive sales growth and lead end-to-end air freight sales and operations. This role is ideal for someone who excels in both commercial development and operational leadership, with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and building strong industry relationships.

Job Responsibilities
🔹 Drive Sales & Business Growth
  • Lead sales initiatives to achieve revenue, GP, and volume targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic trade lanes.
  • Prepare competitive quotations, negotiate with partners, and participate in RFQs.
  • Build strong relationships with airlines, consolidators, and key customers.
  • Stay on top of market trends and competitor activity.
  • Oversee daily import & export operations, from booking to final delivery.
  • Manage carrier space, rate negotiations, flight schedules, and procurement.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with IATA, customs regulations, and internal SOPs.
🔹 Lead & Develop the Team
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise the air freight team.
  • Set clear KPIs and provide continuous training and development.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused team culture.
  • Monitor operational profitability and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Review sales forecasts, volume reports, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee billing accuracy, credit control, and payment follow-up.
Job Requirements
  • Degree or Master’s Degree in any field.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in air freight forwarding with proven sales leadership.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Strong market awareness and ability to identify new business segments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in FMCG / Modern Trade / General Trade environments is a plus, especially with team management exposure.
