The Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching, advancing scholarly activities, and supporting the academic and clinical training of medical students. This position encompasses teaching in both pre-clinical and clinical settings, contributing to curriculum development, engaging in impactful research, and participating in service activities that align with the mission of the Faculty of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Teaching & Learning
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and clinical teaching to undergraduate medical students.
- Prepare, review, and update teaching materials, assessments, and examination questions (including OSCEs and clinical exams).
- Supervise student projects, clinical case presentations, and research activities.
- Provide mentoring, academic advising, and facilitate small-group learning activities (e.g., PBL, CBL).
- Ensure teaching practices comply with Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) standards and relevant professional accreditation requirements.
- 2. Research & Scholarly Activities
- Conduct scholarly research in medical education or clinical disciplines.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
- Collaborate on research projects within the faculty and across disciplines.
- 3. Academic Administration & Service
- Contribute to curriculum review, programme development, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Serve on faculty and university committees as required.
- Support faculty events, outreach programmes, and student-led activities.
- 4. Professional Development & Leadership
- Engage in continuous professional development in medical education and clinical practice.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to departmental growth.
- Participate in community engagement, health promotion, and continuing medical education programmes.
Qualifications
Required
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Master’s in Clinical Speciality, PhD, Medical Education) is preferred.
Preferred
- MBBS with demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice.
