The Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching, advancing scholarly activities, and supporting the academic and clinical training of medical students. This position encompasses teaching in both pre-clinical and clinical settings, contributing to curriculum development, engaging in impactful research, and participating in service activities that align with the mission of the Faculty of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Teaching & Learning
  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and clinical teaching to undergraduate medical students.
  • Prepare, review, and update teaching materials, assessments, and examination questions (including OSCEs and clinical exams).
  • Supervise student projects, clinical case presentations, and research activities.
  • Provide mentoring, academic advising, and facilitate small-group learning activities (e.g., PBL, CBL).
  • Ensure teaching practices comply with Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) standards and relevant professional accreditation requirements.
  • 2. Research & Scholarly Activities
  • Conduct scholarly research in medical education or clinical disciplines.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
  • Collaborate on research projects within the faculty and across disciplines.
  • 3. Academic Administration & Service
  • Contribute to curriculum review, programme development, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Serve on faculty and university committees as required.
  • Support faculty events, outreach programmes, and student-led activities.
  • 4. Professional Development & Leadership
  • Engage in continuous professional development in medical education and clinical practice.
  • Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to departmental growth.
  • Participate in community engagement, health promotion, and continuing medical education programmes.
Qualifications
Required
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Master’s in Clinical Speciality, PhD, Medical Education) is preferred.
Preferred
  • MBBS with demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice.
