Overview

Reporting Accountant supports end to end R&A accountabilities with close interface and collaboration with Integrated Gas Finance & Australia Business and Functions, Treasury and Legal - Shell Energy Holdings Australia Pty Ltd. (SEHAL) entities, the LNG business which contributed 20% of Global Integrated Gas' 2024 Adjusted Earnings.

SEHAL oversees a diverse and material portfolio of assets including Prelude FLNG, Crux, Gorgon, North West Shelf, and Arrow Energy. These assets span both offshore and onshore operations, producing LNG, Condensate, LPG, and Domestic Gas. The portfolio is a blend of early-life, growth-focused projects and late-life, efficiency-driven assets, offering a dynamic environment for financial professionals.

  • The Reporting Accountant will be part of an impactful connected team, working with senior business contacts to address scenarios and specific business challenges.
  • Provide analysis to challenge the status quo, data analytics and business insights, financial reporting, MI cost recovery, advise and/or operate cost allocation process including business specific process improvements and working collaboratively as an equal to influence value drivers for the business and to support decision making.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills to work with senior Business and Finance professionals, the wider finance community, Treasury, Legal and FO Controllers.
What’s the role?
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Prepare Monthly & Quarterly Reporting
  • Operate various FO processes (group reporting month close; statutory reporting; general ledger; fixed assets; billing, etc.)
  • Maintain a transparent and effective financial framework to support business objectives and provide timely, fit-for-purpose financial information
  • Provide support across Reporting, delivering insights to the Business and activities in cost sharing and cost recovery
  • Perform regular reviews of IG and 3rd party receivables and payables to achieve Group targets, removing blockages and enforcing accountability
  • Ensure financial controls are in place, with a robust cost allocation methodology to enable timely cost recovery
  • Drive CI projects such as further development of Touchless MI and increased usage of digital tools
  • Prepare and facilitate rigorous P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow reviews with insights for the business
  • Advise on application of financial accounting policies and standards (GFRM, IFRS) and provide accounting support on Accounting Note, Option and Dispensation
  • Drive the correct outcome of material Financial Accounting events (Impairments, D&R, MA&D deals)
What we need from you?
  • Preferably a Graduate in a Finance/Accounting-related discipline with a Professional Qualification (MIA/ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent) and 3-4 years of post-qualification experience
  • Relevant experience in external audit, financial reporting and controls; monthly and quarterly financial reporting is an advantage
  • Proven ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries, align differing views, manage a wide agenda and handle conflicting priorities
  • Track record of performance and ability as a self-starter to deliver quality results under time pressure
  • Passion for data analytics & management information
  • Commercial acumen to understand key drivers for effective cost recovery and allocation
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex data into understandable messages for non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with ambiguity or change
  • High capacity to prioritise key deliverables
  • Drive towards operational excellence and sharing best practices across assets
