Job summary

A luxury retail company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Brand Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and lead the local team. The ideal candidate should have 5–10 years of experience in fashion retail or boutique operations, along with strong e-commerce and social media skills. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards in store presentation, managing team performance, and driving sales across both physical and online platforms. Trilingual proficiency is preferred to liaise effectively with local and overseas teams.

We are an established designer label with a 10-year heritage in Malaysia, currently expanding our footprint into the United States. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Brand Operations Manager to lead our Malaysian team and manage the day-to-day business.

You will be the "bridge" between the Founder and the local operations. Your mission is to uphold the brand’s high standards, drive sales, and manage the complexity of production and marketing so the Founder can focus on global design and expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Culture: Manage and train a diverse team (Sales, Design Assistant, Marketing). You must be able to foster a culture of accountability, high-energy service, and "no-excuses" efficiency.
  • Sales & Customer Experience: Oversee the Sales Assistants to ensure VIP customers are handled with "white-glove" service. You will be responsible for meeting sales targets for both physical and online stores.
  • Retail Excellence: Ensure the physical store/showroom and the website are curated to perfection. This includes store cleanliness, visual merchandising, and inventory accuracy.
  • Marketing & Events: Lead the execution of social media content, local marketing campaigns, and the planning of pop-up events or trunk shows.
  • Operations & Logistics: Liaise with China-based factories and logistics partners. You will manage the movement of stock (including clearing current inventory) and fabric sourcing.
  • The Founder’s "Right Hand": Act as the decision-maker on the ground. You will provide daily/weekly reports to the Founder (working across time zones) to ensure a seamless workflow.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5–10 years in Fashion Retail, Luxury Brand Management, or Boutique Operations.
  • Skills: Strong grasp of Shopify/e-commerce, social media marketing (Instagram/TikTok), and basic tech-stack management.
  • Language: Trilingual (English, Malay, and Mandarin/Cantonese) is highly preferred to manage local staff and overseas factories.
  • Mindset: A "business-owner" mindset. You must be someone who notices a smudge on the glass or an unreplied DM and fixes it without being told.
  • Availability: Comfortable with occasional late-night or early-morning check-ins with the US-based Founder.
