QS Manager (Based in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya)

The company is expanding and we are now hiring a Q S Manager.
Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Conduct detailed cost analysis during design stages to develop accurate project budgets, prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQs) for tendering purposes, and identify cost‑saving opportunities through value engineering exercises.
- Contract Administration: Review and negotiate construction contracts with contractors, monitor contract compliance and manage contractual variations, and process progress payments and manage claims and disputes.
- Cost Control and Monitoring: Track project expenditures against the approved budget throughout construction, analyze cost variances and implement corrective actions, and regularly report on project financial status to stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential cost risks during the project lifecycle and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Procurement and Tendering: Prepare tender documents and manage the procurement process for subcontractors and materials, evaluate bids and negotiate contract terms with suppliers.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors, and develop and implement quality assurance standards for cost management practices.
- Client Communication: Maintain open communication with clients regarding project costs and financial implications, and provide expert advice on cost‑related matters.
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field.
- Professional certification from a recognized body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of supply chain management principles.
- Extensive experience in construction cost management and contract administration.
- Proficiency in construction software and project management tools.
