PROJECT MANAGER
An established Construction Company urgently seek suitably qualified individuals to join our team and be part of an on-going project in Sarawak.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years working experience in a construction company as site Project Manager or Project Engineer is an advantage.
- Flexible to travel to project sites across Sarawak.
- Excellent knowledge of construction industry, technology, methodology, management and contract.
- Excellent mathematical, scientific and IT skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and methodical way of thinking.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
- Well versed in JKR and PAM form of contract, Uniform Building by Laws, Sarawak Building Ordinance, Local Authorities Requirements and understand the implications of Health and Safety Regulations.
- Well organised, able to work independently and able to meet deadlines.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Project, Excel, Words, Power Point, AutoCad and BIM software.
Job Duties
- To manage and oversee construction project across Sarawak, ensuring all projects are executed according to company standard and client expections.
- To undertake surveys, setting out and organising facilities.
- To check technical designs and construction drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.
- To supervise contracted site workers.
- To prepare site reports and diary, filling RFI and QAQC, and other paperwork.
- To plan and coordinate project timelines, resources and activities to ensure completion within budget and time constraints.
- To serve as the main point of contract between the company’s headquarters and project sites, ensuring smooth communication and project alignment.
- To liaise with local authorities, contractors, suppliers and client.
- To conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, assess risks and implement corrective measures as needed.
- To coordinate, check, verify and evaluate all relevant documents for the Interim Progress Claims and Interim Payment Certificates, inclusive of documents from Consultants, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers.
- To initiate and conduct joint inspection for valuation of work done with external and internal stakeholders, as and when necessary.
- To check, verify and evaluate all Variations Orders (VO) and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
- To ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standard and environmental guidelines.
- To assist in the procurement of materials and equipment.
- To prepared and maintain accurate project document, including schedules, progress report, contract and financial records.
