A leading engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a candidate to handle assessments, site inspections, and testing of earthing and lightning protection systems. The role involves conducting risk assessments, performing site surveys, and analyzing survey results. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and relevant experience in the field. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential. Handles assessments, site inspections, and testing for earthing & lightning protection (E&LP) and surge protective device (SPD) systems, while supporting installations, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with standards.
Conduct risk assessments for earthing & lightning protection (E&LP) systems using software and prepare detailed reports.
Perform site surveys for ELP and surge protective device (SPD) systems, including testing earthing resistance, soil resistivity, system voltage, and leakage.
Analyze survey results and provide technical recommendations to ensure system safety and compliance with IEC standards.
Liaise with clients to address technical issues and provide expert guidance on ELP and SPD systems.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors for the installation, testing, and commissioning of ELP and SPD systems.
Collaborate with technicians for on-site testing, troubleshooting, and adjustments of systems.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ELP and SPD products, IEC standards, and industry best practices.
Conduct technical presentations and training for internal teams and external clients, and engage in professional associations.
Proficient in circuit analysis, design, and understanding of Single Line Diagrams (SLD).
Knowledge of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems and CAD tools.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
Effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
Good time management, attention to safety, and adaptability for continuous learning.
Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field.
Relevant experience in electrical or electronic systems, ideally in earthing, lightning protection, or SPD systems.
