A leading procurement firm in Malaysia is seeking a candidate for a Strategic Procurement & Category Management role. The ideal candidate will manage procurement strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and collaborate across teams to enhance operational efficiency. This position requires expertise in strategic sourcing and strong interpersonal skills. Manage and execute Group-level category strategies for assigned portfolios, serving both Singapore and Malaysia operations.
Conduct in-depth market intelligence, cost modelling, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to inform sourcing decisions and risk mitigation.
Leverage the Malaysian supply base to identify and qualify high-performing suppliers aligned with Group standards on cost, quality, compliance, and sustainability.
Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing process, including RFx management, supplier negotiations, and contract award for assigned categories.
Drive the establishment of Group-wide supply agreements to secure optimal pricing, payment terms, and service levels.
Lead the review, harmonization, and implementation of above-market end-to-end procurement procedures and workflows across entities.
Establish and maintain a robust supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance management framework for strategic Group suppliers.
Build and maintain a Group-approved preferred supplier list and ensure ongoing compliance with Group procurement standards.
Act as the procurement subject matter expert and primary point of contact of assigned category for stakeholders across both countries.
Partner closely with internal functions (Operations, Quality, Finance, R&D, Marketing) to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
Collaborate with logistics, planning, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient cross-border fulfilment and inventory management.
Define, monitor, and report on Group-level KPIs covering cost savings, supplier performance, service quality, and supply chain risk.
Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, category strategies, market trends, and savings to senior leadership.
Play a key role in setting up and refining procurement shared service operations in Malaysia, including process design, team capability development, and technology enablement.
Mentor and develop a high-performing team to support regional procurement activities.
