A healthcare provider in Seremban is looking for an Occupational Therapist to assess and treat patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide rehabilitation services. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, valid licensure, and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a private hospital. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. This position involves collaboration with medical professionals and patient education.
Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial abilities using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools
Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and medical conditions
Provide therapeutic interventions to improve functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental ADLs
Deliver rehabilitation services for inpatients and outpatients, including neurological, orthopedic, pediatric, geriatric, and post-surgical cases (as applicable)
Recommend, prescribe, and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
Conduct home and workplace assessments when required
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, safety strategies, and home programs
Work closely with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and social workers
Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and discharge planning
Contribute to comprehensive rehabilitation and continuity of care
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in compliance with hospital and legal standards
Prepare progress notes, discharge summaries, and outcome reports
Ensure proper billing, coding, and documentation as per hospital requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
Valid registration/licensure with the relevant professional council
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (private hospital experience preferred)
Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience in acute care, rehabilitation, or specialty units (e.g., neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics)
Knowledge of private healthcare regulations and insurance processes
