Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

Provide second level communications, monitoring, support, diagnosis, resolution and coordination with internal and external groups, utilizing multiple various network and security monitoring tools to ensure the viability of the service provider network, while responding to a variety of managed internet service issues.

What are you accountable for?

  • Perform device configurations, including internal operating systems & software, servers, network devices.
  • Troubleshoot cases and tickets escalated from 1st level and escalate to I3/Manager if not able to resolve the case.
  • Have ownership based on domain of expertise as per department needs such as VM, SD-WAN, Firewall, PREMIUM SUPPORT, INFRA and BACKBONE.
  • Assist other teams on their domain if needed.
  • Assist management to improve I1 knowledge/skill and provide feedback time to time on I1 performance.
  • Provide guidance to junior for technical or operational issue.
  • Onsite support if issue not resolved by I1 for customer discussion if needed.
  • Contribute to ISO/SOP implementation and improvement to achieve high quality services.
  • Prepare incident report with assistance by I1.
  • Participate in R&D for improvement with I3 engineer.
  • Meet with customer for network review and participate in pre‑sales/post‑sale projects when required.

What do you need to have for this role?

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Communications Management, Network Operations/Management, Network Security.
  • Work experience 3‑5 years.
  • Preferably with Cisco/Juniper/Mikrotik/Peplink/Various certifications, e.g., MTCNA/CCNA/CCNA Security/CCNP Module 1/Security certificate.
  • Good knowledge and skills in security products like firewall setup and design.
  • Knowledge of network technologies such as switches, load balancers, firewalls, routing protocols and DNS.
  • Certificates: CEH/Comptia Security+/CCNA/CCNA Security/CCNP/Firewall/SD‑WAN.
  • Upper level – OSCP, OSI, WAN, MAN, Routing (OSPF+STATIC), VLAN and IPV4.
  • NOC Level 2 post support flow and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of product Cisco, Mikrotik, Fortinet, Checkpoint and Peplink.
  • In‑depth working knowledge of security assessment tools, log analysis and SIEM tools.
  • Understand the various types of cyber‑attacks and remediation.
  • Incident response and cybersecurity kill‑chain.
  • Various security products such as EDR, Endpoint, SIEM.
  • Communication – strong in internal & external communication and coordination to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Problem solving & decision making – provide solutions that require interpretation when dealing with expectations, consider consequences of decisions, develop solutions that address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Planning & organizing – prioritize & accommodate multiple demands & unexpected events, flexible in adjusting individual plans as needed, able to work under limited supervision to complete non‑routine tasks/projects.
  • Preferably with Cisco/Mikrotik/Peplink/Fortinet/Sophos certifications.
  • Good knowledge and skills in security products like firewall setup and design.
