Qualifications

  • Possess basic Medical Degree from a recognized university.
  • Possess Full Registration Certification by Malaysian Medical Council with Valid Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Completed Housemanship Training.
  • Minimum three (3) years working experience in clinical medicine.
  • Minimum (1) working experience in Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional medical care to corporate clients, staff, and Emergency Department patients.
  • Initiates prompt referral to the relevant Specialist as required by the patient's condition.
  • Participates in Code Blue Activation and acts as the Primary Medical Doctor.
  • Assists the Specialist in the immediate treatment and management of patients.
  • Conducts and assists in training programs for Emergency Department nursing staff.
Job description

ParkCity Medical Centre – Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur

1. Provides professional medical care to corporate clients, staff and Emergency Department patients.

2. Renders professional medical care for any patient seeking treatment in the Emergency Department. Medical care will be in compliance with the established guidelines, policy and procedures.

3. Initiates prompt referral to the relevant Specialist as and when required by the patient's condition.

4. Shall inform the Specialist concerned about any patient who is admitted through Emergency Department, under his/her care.

5. Assists the Specialist, when required in the immediate treatment and management of the patient in the Emergency Department.

6. Participates in Code Blue Activation across the hospital and acts as the Primary Medical Doctor until relieved by a Medical Consultant or the Primary Physician.

7. Performs phlebotomy related procedures and other privileged procedures when required, for Emergency Department patients as well as inpatients.

8. Required to assist the Radiologist in giving intravenous contrast medium and sedation when needed.

9. Provides medical support when a patient is required to be transferred to another facility locally.

10. Reports for work according to a prepared roster (shift duties including night duties) and to standby for “on-call” duties when necessary.

11. Attending regular and periodic ED Doctors' meetings.

12. Works in close cooperation with other units and ancillary department in establishing support service requirements for medical activities within the Emergency Department and Staff Health Services.

13. Adheres to Hospital Administrative and Medical Policies and Procedures while performing duties.

14. Attend lectures by in-house Specialists as and when organized to maintain a Continuing Medical Education Program (CME).

15. To conduct and assist in training programs for Emergency Department nursing staff and ancillary staff.

16. To be consistently updated in the field of medicine through current literature, attendance at workshops, courses, seminars and membership in professional organizations.

17. To report all communicable, infectious and sexually transmitted diseases identified and treated in the Emergency Department as per MOH requirements.

18. Perform minor surgical procedures like toileting and suturing, catheterization, incision & drainage and closed manual reduction of fracture/dislocation when appropriate (as per privileging and competency)

19. Health education to patients and guardian when necessary.

20. To provide Medical Reports for patients when required for insurance claims, medico-legal matters, etc.

21. To perform any other duties as required from time to time.

Education / Professional Qualification
