A leading personal finance platform in Malaysia is seeking a Malay Language Social Media Content Creator to develop engaging video content for social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The ideal candidate will be a native Malay speaker with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience, comfortable on camera, and skilled in video editing. This role involves creating educational and culturally relevant content while connecting with the Malay-speaking community. Competitive compensation and a creative work environment are offered.
RinggitPlus is Malaysia's leading personal finance platform, helping millions of Malaysians make smarter decisions about credit cards, personal loans, insurance, and savings. We're expanding our reach to serve Malay-speaking Malaysians who prefer financial content in their own language.
We're looking for a content creator to build our Malay-language social media presence from the ground up. This isn't a translation role - we want someone who thinks and creates natively in Bahasa Malaysia, using natural "rojak" speech the way Malaysians actually talk.
Create original video content in Bahasa Malaysia for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok - educational explainers, street interviews, trending content, whatever format works.
Be on camera as the face of RinggitPlus BM.
Handle the full production cycle: ideation, scripting, filming, editing (CapCut/Canva), publishing.
Build and grow our dedicated RinggitPlus BM Facebook page.
Make "boring" financial topics - credit cards, loans, budgeting, savings - genuinely interesting and accessible.
Create content tied to Malay cultural moments: Ramadan budgeting, Hari Raya planning, bajet Raya, duit raya.
Engage with the BM-speaking community and stay on top of Malay social media trends.
Native Malay speaker - you understand the nuances, humour, slang, and natural speech patterns.
2-3 years creating social media content, ideally with agency experience.
Comfortable on camera - confident, engaging, not awkward.
Video editing skills - CapCut or equivalent, able to edit daily without external support.
Canva for graphics and thumbnails.
Deep familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok - algorithms, trends, what performs.
Working English proficiency - our internal communication is in English.
You genuinely find personal finance interesting, not just tolerable.
You live on social media - you're scrolling TikTok because you want to, not because it's your job.
You understand the rakyat mindset and can connect with everyday Malaysians worried about bills and savings.
You can meet deadlines - creative freedom comes with professional discipline.
You take feedback well and iterate quickly.
