A leading automotive parts manufacturer located in Malaysia seeks a Mould Maintenance Manager responsible for overseeing operations including preventive and corrective maintenance, tooling, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with 5-7 years of relevant experience, and a strong understanding of mould design. Leadership and problem-solving skills are essential as the role includes training team members and driving continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM and Kaizen. This position emphasizes safety and compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 standards.
Manage Mould Maintenance operations , ensuring two-shift coverage, preventive and corrective maintenance, and safe handling of heavy lifting equipment (cranes and mould flippers). Oversee tooling and spare parts management, enforce safety standards, and report PM schedules and breakdowns to management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 implementation.
Plan and supervise mould maintenance activities for two-shift operations.
Coordinate with production and tooling teams for mould repair and improvement. This including arrangement with external Mould maker.
Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
Prepare and report mould preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and breakdown reports to management
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mould defects.
Manage tooling inventory, spare parts, and maintenance tools.
Implement and enforce safety standards and conduct risk assessments.
Operate and oversee heavy lifting equipment (cranes and mould flippers) safely.
Support and ensure implementation of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) requirements in mould maintenance operations.
Train and mentor team members; drive TPM and Kaizen initiatives.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5-7 years of experience in mould maintenance, preferably in automotive or manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of mould design (CAD software), repair, and preventive maintenance.
Experience in managing operations, safety compliance, tooling, and heavy lifting equipment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Microsoft 365 tools.
Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 requirements related to maintenance operations.
