Job summary

A global leader in optical components is seeking an experienced individual to lead equipment maintenance and improvements in Ipoh, Malaysia. The right candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and relevant experience in networking and test processes. You will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and ensuring proper equipment setup. This is a full-time position with a commitment to maintaining high standards in a dynamic environment.

Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance and improvements for die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens, testers, etc.
  • Responsible to lead a group of technicians..
  • Identify, lead and implement cost reduction activities.
  • Responsible in preparing & perform new equipment set-up and buy-off.
  • Ensure proper facilities are available for new equipment set-up.
  • Liaise with equipment vendor to improve tool capability.
  • Provide feedback on equipment and material issues/make recommendations and offer solutions to ensure new products meet requirements.
  • Work with process engineers in preparing and updating process documentations and work instructions for assembly line process and equipment.
  • Work with production team in improving yield & UPH of the assigned processes, including cost reduction activities.
  • Compliance to ISO Requirements, company rules & regulations, applicable codes etc
  • Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of task
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering – Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Computer/Telecommunication or equivalent.
  • Relevant working experience in networking, test process or product transfer.
  • Familiar with product development process & proven success of releasing products to production.
  • Understand basic test methodologies and able to interpret/read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working with fiber-optic/laser products.
