Overview
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring seamless inbound and outbound material flow to support manufacturing requirements. The role demands strong leadership in managing warehouse activities, logistics processes and continuous improvement initiatives to meet business ramp needs and corporate goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee inbound shipments, customs clearance and timely receipt of materials.
- Ensure efficient storage and accurate inventory management within the warehouse.
- Align warehouse operations with production requirements through effective transfer orders.
- Ensure materials are pipelined and transferred for production use within the shortest lead time.
- Expedite kitting processes and ensure quality inspection of parts before release to production.
- Manage outbound logistics activities, including shipping, customs documentation and MITI compliance.
- Coordinate timely delivery of finished goods and materials to designated destinations.
- Monitor and align all warehouse and logistics KPIs with corporate objectives.
- Work closely with the Finance team in Malaysia on cycle counts and inventory attainments, balancing material costs.
- Implement robust reporting and documentation processes for warehouse and logistics management.
- Lead projects focused on process optimisation and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and execute warehouse and logistics capacity planning strategies to support business ramp‑up.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and contribute to global logistics strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in warehouse and logistics or a relevant equivalent qualification.
Preferred Qualifications
- 12–15 years of experience in warehouse and logistics leadership roles.
- Proven track record in managing large‑scale warehouse operations and logistics functions.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, MITI compliance and international shipping processes.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma an added advantage).
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to lead a team of logistics personnel in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and logistics software.
