Job summary

A leading development group in Kuala Lumpur is looking for an IT Support Specialist to manage Windows desktop PCs and servers within an Active Directory environment. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing security updates, and coordinating with vendors for new infrastructure projects. Candidates must hold a Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and have a minimum of 2 years experience in a related field. Experience with Microsoft 365 and server management is essential, focusing on ensuring the reliability of IT systems.

Qualifications

Job description

Managing Windows desktop PCs and Servers in the Windows Active Directory environment. The scope covers:

• Windows Server
• Services such as AD, DNS and DHCP
• Microsoft 365 Administration
• Users’ permissions and printer sharing
• Troubleshooting Windows related problems
• Backup and restore procedure for critical servers.
• Managing antivirus solution
• Managing firewall
• Setup new access control rules
• Troubleshooting firewall related problems
• Managing windows desktop pcs and servers in the networked environment
• TCP/IP – iP address, subnet mask, gateway, routes

Maintenance and Implementation

Troubleshoot, support, and maintain PCs, test and implement upgrades of PCs in order to ensure the reliability of IT to support daily business operation. Planning of PC refresh program and standardization of office applications and operating system.

IT Security

To perform security update on all systems to ensure all vulnerabilities are patched and fixed. Coordinate with external vendor on Penetration Test twice yearly.

Project Coordination

Coordinate with vendors for infrastructure requirement such as PCs and printers for existing offices in order to support new business operation and enhance existing business operation. As for the project based assignment on new project/new office setup, to coordinate with vendors on full implementation which include servers, network, PCs and printers.

Special Assignments

Assist General Manager and Senior Manager to perform any other duties as assigned from time to time in order to facilitate project and task completion.

Education / Professional Certification & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in a related field is required.

Specialized Knowledge

• Knowledge and experience in installation and configuration of both Microsoft Windows and Linux OS
• Knowledge and experience in managing and Active Directory environment
• Knowledge and experience in managing Microsoft 365 and related services
• Knowledge and experience in managing an endpoint Antivirus system
• Knowledge in Windows Cluster, SQL Cluster, SAN and Server Load Balancer would be an added advantage.
