About Us

Dyson Global Logistics is looking for an extraordinary Logistics Operations Manager to join our team in Malaysia. The Logistics Operations Manager is a key role in the Global Logistics Organisation linking upstream GMP activities with contract manufacturing operations to downstream Freight Operations and Regional Logistics functional activities. The successful candidate is responsible for the overall performance of origin operations, in day-to-day operations and global trade compliance requirements.

About the Role
  • Responsible for tactical decisions that are aligned to deliver products and services to markets and owners while optimizing response to operational realities.
  • Understand and apply push and pull systems, inventory control and cycle time reduction to manage working capital.
  • Use cost-to-serve analysis to identify collaborative opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive an optimized logistics agenda.
  • Plan, schedule and manage short- and long-term capacity planning from plan to build to ship to receipt.
  • Drive strong purchase order management and apply segmentation techniques to focus on critical SKUs.
  • Determine and drive capacity utilization requirements to plan at a PO line level for a synchronized shipment plan.
  • Ensure contract manufacturer performance, volumes and timeline goals are met by using systems, tools and standard operating procedures to meet KPI service performance.
  • Leverage an understanding of customs regulations and ensure accuracy and completeness of trade documentation for export/import.
  • Be responsible for shipped-in-full and on-time performance for each PO line or order.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for service or operational failures.
  • Act as the contract manufacturer main escalation point in resolving operational bottlenecks.
  • Work with peers to effectively manage and transition goods from production to transportation, meeting service and cost objectives while increasing agility.
  • Manage inventory booked for transport from the contract manufacturer at a PO line level from source and report accordingly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for service excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Support Global Logistics best-practice promotion and adopt value-add practices to drive business process improvement.
  • Deliver cost management objectives to budget, including avoidance of additional costs from process failures.
Deliverables
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative team culture internally and with contract manufacturing providers.
  • Deploy efficient procedures and processes for effective logistics planning and execution.
  • Govern and utilise short- and long-term capacity planning to deliver accurate weekly capacity and load planning.
  • Ensure all contract manufacturers comply with Dyson governance standards for visibility, service, and cost requirements.
  • Oversee and manage the execution of export security and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between cross-functional teams and external contract manufacturing and 3PL service providers.
  • Work with Logistics Excellence to understand, implement and monitor strategic initiatives that improve efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers, indirect procurement and freight and transport teams to proactively manage outbound flow of goods, avoiding detention and demurrage costs at origin.
  • Monitor global standard KPIs and collaborate with Dyson Logistics Performance Management to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment, documentation and controls for logistics operations and procedures, including potential nuances.
  • Ensure alignment internally and with contract manufacturers on standards and operating procedures.
  • Set SMART objectives and KPIs that measure service delivery, data quality and financial performance achieved by each contract manufacturer.

Skills And Knowledge Required For The Role
  • Knowledge and experience in logistics operations and regulatory requirements (including safety, security and import/export compliance law).
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills; ability to evaluate complex issues and articulate solutions clearly.
  • Excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and the inter-dependencies of Plan, Source, Make, Deliver.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse, transportation and freight management.
  • Supply chain degree is desirable.
  • 10+ years of operational logistics experience in relevant industries.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel at short notice.
