Position Summary
The Financial Controller is a key member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for leading all financial operations, developing financial strategies to support growth, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring clear and timely reporting to both local leadership and U.S. stakeholders. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong collaboration and teamwork across Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support business expansion, production scaling, and capital investment.
- Provide financial guidance to senior leadership during strategic planning, capacity growth, and new business development.
- Represent company in senior level government agencies, including Tax, Property, License and others as required.
Team & System Development
- Lead, mentor, and strengthen the Finance and Accounting team to meet increasing operational complexity.
- Enhance financial governance, closing processes, reporting accuracy, and data transparency.
- Drive digitalization and automation of financial systems aligned with Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Cross‑Functional Business Partnership
- Support Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales with real‑time financial analysis for planning, supplier negotiations, and customer pricing strategies.
- Translate financial data into clear business insights for non‑financial stakeholders.
- Lead cross‑functional teams providing accurate data and extensive understanding of the company’s process flows.
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Manage monthly/quarterly/year‑end closing and ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and audit requirements.
- Prepare accurate financial reports and executive dashboards for Malaysian and U.S. management teams.
Costing, Profitability, and Inventory Control
- Lead standard costing, BOM costing, and product margin analysis for competitive and profitable pricing.
- Optimize cost structures across machining, assembly, procurement, and labor.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and working capital efficiency.
Forecasting, Cash Flow & Capital Management
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and liquidity management.
- Evaluate capital expenditures for facility upgrades, equipment acquisition, and automation investments, ensuring ROI and alignment with growth strategy.
Compliance, Incentives & Global Coordination
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting and audit standards.
- Manage documentation for government incentives, tax credits, and R&D or automation grants.
- Coordinate financial reporting requirements with U.S. operations and global clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, and operational cost control.
- Proven ability to lead finance teams and collaborate cross‑functionally.
- Experience managing companies of 300+ in a rapidly growing environment.
- Expert level in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Professional certifications: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting high‑growth or multi‑site manufacturing.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and data/reporting automation.
- MBA or advanced financial qualification is an advantage.
- Experience working for a multinational company.
