The EHS Assistant Manager / Manager supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to promote a strong safety culture, minimize risk, and drive sustainable EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental, Health, and Safety Management – Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Scheduled Waste Management – Oversee the management, storage, and disposal of scheduled waste in accordance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with waste disposal contractors and ensure proper documentation.
- Regulatory Compliance – Monitor and interpret EHS regulations, focusing on scheduled waste management and other compliance requirements. Liaise with department heads to ensure that all EHS systems and processes meet applicable regulatory standards. Investigate workplace accidents, near‑misses, and environmental incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain detailed records of incidents and track safety performance metrics.
- ISO Certification and Audit Related – Coordinate the fulfilment of the ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and related certification.
Requirements
- Diploma/ Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, with a focus on scheduled waste management and safety compliance especially in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledgeable on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 system.
- Competent Person Certificate in Scheduled Waste Management.
- Attended SHO Class & pass NIOSH exam.
- Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) certification from DOSH is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
