Job description

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and ensure compliance of all environmental laws and regulations and any Company standards and Company volunteer compliance obligations;
  • Develop and facilitate implementation of environmental management plan (EMP) and programmes;
  • Develop and review procedures and systems and drive their implementation (e.g. hazardous (scheduled) waste management, complaint handling, environmental aspect and impact, etc.);
  • Schedule, coordinate and conduct environmental audits by a third party including auditor accredited with Department of Environment (DOE), ISO 14001 certification auditor, etc;
  • Monitor, analyse, report and communicate on Company’s environmental performance, activities and issues;
  • Investigate environmental incidents or complaints;
  • Develop and conduct environmental training programmes and assist in identifying Company environmental training needs.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering, preferably in Environmental Engineering;
  • Having attended Environmental Officer training would be an added advantage;
  • Conversant in Environmental Quality Act 1974 and subsidiary regulations and ISO 14001 Environmental management systems;
  • Experience in conducting environmental audits and environmental aspect & impact assessment;
  • A minimum of three years working experience in related fields;
  • Flexibility in communication requirements (i.e. must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with people from within and outside of the organization);
  • Good analysis of issues and concerns and systematic formulation of organizational systems and procedures;
  • Checks and balances the procedures in the organization through regular audits and inspections.
