As the Director of PMO at PayNet, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring the successful delivery of strategic projects that drive business growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands‑on project governance, ensuring projects are executed with excellence while aligning with PayNet’s objectives as a fintech government‑linked company with niche skill requirements.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the PMO strategy and governance framework tailored to PayNet’s fintech operations.
- Define project management standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance considerations are integrated into project execution.
- Establish project governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and risk management practices.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of strategic projects, ensuring alignment with PayNet’s business objectives.
- Monitor project portfolio performance, driving on-time, within-budget, and quality delivery.
- Identify cross-functional risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, ensuring proactive mitigation.
- Foster agility and adaptability in project execution, balancing fintech innovation with risk management.
- Lead risk mitigation and issue resolution efforts, ensuring prompt resolution of project challenges.
- Manage escalations, ensuring that critical issues are addressed effectively and in a timely manner.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, analysts, and coordinators.
- Engage with senior executives, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders to align projects with business needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing strategic insights and updates on project progress.
- Cultivate a collaborative culture that enhances execution, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Resource & Budget Management
- Optimize resource allocation, ensuring the best use of internal talent and external vendors.

- Manage third‑party vendors, consultants, and fintech partners to enhance execution capabilities.
Digital & Process Optimization
- Drive the adoption of cutting‑edge project management tools and fintech solutions to enhance execution.
- Continuously refine project delivery processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and impact.
What Expected of You
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in project/program management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a PMO or strategy function. Experience in fintech, financial services, or regulated industries is an advantage.
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Strong strategic thinking and execution capabilities in a fintech/regulatory environment.
- Expertise in portfolio, program, and project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Ability to balance governance and agility to meet fintech and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to drive cross‑functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, ServiceNow, Monday.com).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and risk management skills.
