Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Desktop Publisher to join our printing and publishing team. The role involves preparing, designing, formatting, and finalizing print-ready materials such as brochures, catalogs, flyers, books, packaging, and other printed collateral. The Desktop Publisher will ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with client or company design standards before production.

To ensure success as a print designer, you should have a good understanding of color calibration and technical printing standards. A skilled print designer should have a keen eye for detail and be able to create designs for a variety of printed mediums.

Responsibilities

• Design, layout, and format documents, publications, and marketing materials for printing.

• Prepare and check print-ready files (PDF, AI, InDesign, etc.) according to printing specifications.

• Ensure consistency of fonts, colors, images, and branding across all printed materials.

• Work closely with graphic designers, writers, and print vendors to ensure smooth production flow.

• Edit and correct text, images, and layouts to meet client and production requirements.

• Perform quality checks on proofs and samples before final printing.

• Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and ensure timely delivery of print-ready files.

• Maintain digital file archives, templates, and artwork for future use.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to formatting, file compatibility, and printing errors.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, Publishing, or related field.

• Proven experience as a Desktop Publisher or in a similar role in printing/publishing.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and MS Office.

• Strong knowledge of pre-press, color management, and printing processes (offset & digital).

• Attention to detail with excellent proofreading and formatting skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Good communication skills to liaise with clients, designers, and printers.
