To maintain customer service standards, responsible for overseeing the Cashier Department and processing transactions, including cash, credit, and debit, according to the POS system. Assist the Chief Cashier in supervising and training cashiers to ensure store policies and procedures are maintained. Monitor front-end activities where cashiers are working, minimize loss prevention, and address customer concerns in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate POS IDs for the Assistant Chief Cashier (ACC) and cashiers when authorized and verified by the Chief Cashier (CC).
- Assist in preparing cash floats and distributing them to all cashiers, ensuring sufficient small notes and loose change (coins) when authorized by the Chief Cashier (CC).
- Ensure that each cashier counter's total sales collection (cash, card, and e-wallet) tallies with daily sales and tabulate all relevant cashier reports (Sales Collection report, Terminal Report, TNG sales report, etc.) as per company SOP and verify them with the Chief Cashier (CC).
- Ensure that cash is calculated and packed according to the daily sales report, to be verified by the Store Manager/appointed personnel, and handed over as per the schedule according to company SOP.
- Compile all relevant cashier documents and submit them to the Store Manager for approval before forwarding them to the accounts department.
- Assist the Chief Cashier (CC) in pre-planning the cashier department's working schedule and ensure that there is sufficient manpower for daily cashier operations.
- Be responsible for attending to customer inquiries, handling complaints, providing solutions, and handling alternatives (Refund, Return & Exchange) politely.
- Be responsible for resolving and verifying all cashier transaction errors (voiding, cancellation, etc.) before authorizing any correction adjustments and properly documenting them.
- Assist in training all subordinates according to company standards and job training guidelines and follow up on overall performance progress.
- Ensure that cashier duties and operational workflows are executed as per company SOP/Handbook, such as counter tidiness, staff grooming, greeting, etc.
- Ensure that all sales, marketing, and promotional activities are briefed to subordinates and provide feedback on relevant issues to superiors.
- Perform any other duties related to general operational functions and ad-hoc assignments.
