Job description

Overview

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a company’s Boiler Plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate the steam boiler according to the required operations parameters.
• Perform daily checks on a boiler’s motor, pump, fan and other related valves and fittings to ensure all equipment runs in good order (Total Preventive Maintenance).
• Raise a job requisition and submit it to the Engineering section if any equipment needs repair, service or replacement.
• Maintain the boiler premise within a reasonable 5S standard, keep staircases, stairwells and walkways clear of obstructions, and keep daily tools and accessories in good order.
• Carry out teardown, cleaning and maintenance of the steam boiler in preparation for the yearly audit/inspection from relevant authorities.
• Report urgent actions to the immediate superior to prevent any outward incident.
• Participate in safety and health committee activities.
• Oversee day‑to‑day boiler operations and ensure premises remain in tip‑top condition at all times.
• Record daily boiler operation data in logbook.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess Steam Boiler Grade 1 Certified issued by DOSH.
• Minimum SPM qualification: Vocational Diploma/Certificate or equivalent.
• At least 2–3 years of boiler hands‑on operation experience in manufacturing/production field.
• Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English.
• Report compilation and writing skills.
• Preferable work knowledge in manufacturing industry.
