A leading environmental management company in Seremban is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager certified in scheduled waste management. You will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and supervise staff. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in relevant fields, possesses a CePSWaM certification, and has 1-3 years of experience in waste management or plant operations. This role offers a competitive salary of RM 4,000 – RM 6,000 per month, commensurate with experience.
Position Title: Assistant Plant Manager (CePSWaM Certified)
Location: Seremban
Reports To: Plant Manager
Environmental Compliance
Ensure all scheduled waste management activities comply with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 (EQA 1974) and Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005.
Waste Management Operations
Oversee daily plant operations related to scheduled waste handling, including waste identification, classification, segregation, packaging, labeling, monitoring, and facility maintenance.
Regulatory Liaison & Reporting
Liaise with relevant authorities such as the Department of Environment (DOE), DOSH, Pharmacy, Fire Department, and City Council. Ensure compliance with licensing, statutory requirements, e‑SWIS submissions, and proper waste documentation.
Supervision & Training
Supervise and train workers on proper scheduled waste handling procedures, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
Emergency Response
Implement emergency procedures for spills or accidental releases of scheduled waste, including immediate containment, clean‑up, and reporting to the Director General of DOE.
Plant Operations Support
Support the Plant Manager in overall plant operations, including production planning, maintenance coordination, and ensuring safe and efficient processes.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in initiatives to improve waste reduction, operational efficiency, and overall environmental performance.
Education
Diploma or Degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field.
Certification
Must possess a valid Certificate of Competency as a Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM), registered with DOE/EiMAS.
Experience
Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in scheduled waste management or plant operations (depending on education level).
Skills
Good knowledge of environmental regulations, strong communication skills, problem‑solving ability, and leadership skills.
Personal Attributes
Responsible, self‑motivated, able to work independently, and committed to professional ethics.
Estimated Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 6,000 per month
Salary may vary depending on experience and competency. CePSWaM certification is considered an added value.
