Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced communications professional to join our Sustainability Division.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively underscore our sustainability commitments, practices and progress. This role requires excellent communication skills as well as the ability to engage and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
A good understanding of sustainability and the agriculture industry, particularly palm oil, will be an added advantage.
Job Description
Communication Strategy Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies by identifying key messaging and trends to effectively promote the company’s sustainability initiatives and milestones.
- Create engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media, websites, press releases, newsletters and marketing collateral, to raise awareness of our sustainability efforts and progress.
- Manage content calendar and ensure communication materials are developed and published in a timely manner.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, industry peers, NGOs and other stakeholders to leverage their expertise and networks, as well as identify opportunities for collective collaborations.
- Act as the primary media contact for matters related to sustainability, including preparing media responses. Build and manage media relations, coordinate and prepare company spokespeople for interviews.
- Track and analyse communication efforts, including media coverage and social media engagements, to measure impact and effectiveness.
- Oversee editorial and design of sustainability reports and disclosures.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
- Excellent professional language proficiency (written and verbal) in English is a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex or technical topics in a clear and compelling manner for diverse audiences
- Good understanding of sustainability or corporate social responsibility
- Good analytical skills and able to interpret data to develop communication strategies and materials
- Experience in media relations and crisis communications
- Experience in content development and social media management
- Able to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams as well as external stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Willing to travel, both domestic and international, as required. A valid international passport is required
