Key Objective
  • The position is responsible for providing underwriting service to internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to policy holders, agents and brokers.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • To assist the department in achieving underwriting targets & financial plans.
  • Underwrite and review risks for acceptance which includes risk assessment, determine rate and terms, site visit & prepare quotation slip, renewal review, claim review, treaty guidelines and where necessary drive negotiation and closure of deal together with distribution.
  • Regular review of outstanding quotations
  • Handle enquiries and provide technical support in accordance with service standard for underwriting
  • Adherence to reporting, internal and external, timely and accurate submission of reports and statistics
  • Broker visitation.
Underwriting Segmentation Goals
  • Accountable and responsible for delivering the value proposition and service delivery goals of the assigned segmentation.
  • Drive the whole of account underwriting culture by demonstrating strong collaboration and instilling segmentation's best practices into our operations and processes, promoting the culture of continuous improvement and expanding the capabilities and innovation
  • Collaborate across multiple lines of business and other functional stakeholders in joint strategic and tactical projects
  • Contribute ideas towards multi-line P&C products to meet the opportunities present in segmentation, meeting multi-line needs of distribution and clients
  • Identify, develop and execute cross-selling opportunities within own lines of business as well as across others
  • Other segmentation tasks as assigned
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in the class of business

  • Computer literate especially MS Office, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work under pressure and demanding timelines.
