A luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Sales Manager to drive commercial results and develop sales strategies. With your strong understanding of our audience, you are able to efficiently allocate resources to sales initiatives that drive great return and you are able to keep checks and balances with our international and local PR and advertising partners.
Be cognizant of the hotel’s target segments and demographics and periodically reviewing the target markets to stay relevant and be aligned with brand’s objectives;
Consistently develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, goals and action plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize market share;
Consistently monitor, evaluate and share local, national and international market trends and competitors sales initiatives, and provide key information for comp-set reports;
Collaborate with the senior management team to establish sales budgets and forecasts;
Collaborate with internal teams, including but not limited to operations, marketing and revenue management, to deliver exceptional client experiences;
Develop a sales & events deck to standardise and facilitate the sharing of information of spaces & services;
Maintaining an events calendar with up-to-date events happening in the hotel;
Responsible to issue out event orders with accurate and up-to-date information to all departments with sufficient lead time for operations team to prepare;
Lead post event evaluation after each event to gather information and learnings for future references;
Prepare, analyse and share monthly reports on sales achievements, tentative & up-coming events, lost accounts & reasons, outstanding payments, and any other reports that management may require to monitor performance;
Build strong relationships with key clients, travel agencies, corporate accounts, government officials, business groups and industry partners;
Regularly engage with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction;
Attends relevant major travel, trade, and corporate functions to network and promote the hotel and spaces;
Be confident in conducting sales presentations, be shrewd in negotiating contracts, and be swift in closing deals;
Lead and motivate direct reports by providing guidance, training and performance coaching as and when required;
Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture, encouraging teamwork and sharing of best practices;
Completes monthly sales reports, analysis and forecasts for all departmental scheduling purpose;
Consistently innovate and explore the use of technology to improve productivity;
Maintain the client database with accurate and detailed information;
Plans and execute sales trips (locally & abroad) based on business opportunities and segmentation priorities;
Ensure all contracts signed follow hotel policies and procedures;
Acting as a hotel brand ambassador and provides ongoing guest feedback to all areas of the hotel to identify potential areas of improvements;
Able to identify opportunities cost and conduct business in the best long-term interest of the hotel;
Maintains the highest level of professionalism in sales activities and appearance at all times;
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity
Must have 3 to 10 years preferred experience in a hotel environment;
Strong network in the luxury travel market;
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred;
Proven Sales track record including campaign creation;
Knowledge on the hotel IT infrastructure and systems;
Hotel Experience preferred.
