Job summary

A leading provider of heavy-duty power solutions is seeking an Accounts Assistant (Accounts Receivable) to join its Finance team in Penang, Malaysia. This role includes preparing invoices, recording payments, and managing accounts receivable to ensure accurate billing and timely collections. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance and 1–3 years of relevant experience, with strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Good communication skills, especially with customers on billing.

About The Role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant (Accounts Receivable) to support our Finance team in managing the Accounts Receivable activities. This role ensures accurate billing, timely collections, and proper financial record-keeping to support smooth business operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and issue invoices, debit notes, and credit notes.
  • Record customer payments and update AR aging.
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding payments.
  • Handle billing enquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform monthly AR reconciliation and assist in month-end closing.
  • Support the Accounts team with any AR-related tasks as required.
What We’re Looking For
  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is an advantage.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Good communication skills, especially when liaising with customers on billing matters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
