Job summary
A leading legal services provider in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Head of Legal to lead their legal function and provide strategic counsel across their complex business operations. The successful candidate will oversee M&A transactions, regulatory compliance, and legal operations within the energy and renewable energy sectors. Required qualifications include over 10 years of legal experience and strong capabilities in managing a legal team, with fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English essential for effective communication.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of professional legal experience, with at least 5 years in the energy or renewable energy industry.
- Proven experience handling M&A transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, drafting, negotiation, and closing.
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements related to energy, power projects, and infrastructure.

- Provide strategic legal counsel to senior leadership and cross-functional teams on all critical business initiatives, legal risks, and corporate governance matters.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive legal strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives in the energy and renewable energy sectors.
- Act as the primary legal representative for the company in high-stakes environments and complex, multi-party transactions.
- Lead the legal handling of M&A transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, drafting, negotiation, and closing.
- Oversee and manage complex corporate legal issues, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Possess a deep understanding of regulatory requirements related to energy, power projects, and infrastructure.
- Ensure the company's operations adhere to all applicable compliance frameworks and governance processes.
- Manage and lead all interactions with government bodies and regulatory institutions.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills with experience managing a legal team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Manage external counsels, optimizing their performance and ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
- Manage and control legal budgets and implement strategies to optimize legal workflows.
