Job summary

A leading mining company in Jakarta Utara is seeking a qualified Legal Specialist to manage contracts and legal risks. The successful candidate will provide legal advice to various business units, conduct risk assessments, and monitor compliance with Indonesian laws. Candidates should hold a law degree, possess a valid legal practice license, and have at least 3 years of experience in legal practice. Bilingual skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English are required, and knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.

  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm and in-house legal department.
  • Fluent in Mandarin is a plus.

Overview

Able to do draft, review, revise, and negotiate various types of contracts and legal documents.

Provide timely and accurate legal advice to multiple business units (Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, etc.).

Conduct legal risk assessments for business activities and provide compliant recommendations.

Monitor updates in Indonesian laws and regulations, evaluate business impact, and conduct internal compliance training.

Assist in handling litigation, arbitration, and dispute cases, including coordinating with external law firms.

Identify legal risks in daily operations and recommend preventive measures.

Guide and supervise junior legal specialists.

  • Team management experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian commercial law.
  • Excellent bilingual contract drafting, negotiation, and communication skills (Bahasa Indonesia & English) at working proficiency level.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Good business acumen with the ability to balance legal risks and business goals.
  • Able to speak and write fluent Mandarin is a plus.
